The Wanna Be Bride – Part 6

Sometimes I feel like running away and eloping would be the best option; having the big wedding may just be over-rated. We have both been very taxed lately with work, school, and more work - sometimes 60+ hours a week for him. Then he helps me with home work and then we just try to find time to ‘be together.’ Sometimes it feels like we are in limbo. Not single, but not married, so everything is harder.
Because we both work retail its almost impossible to get the same days off, so the most feasible time to see each other is . . . anytime we can. Usually its late at night when we are both off work. So its over to his house or mine for a few hours, then goodnight and see you again tomorrow: same time, same place.
I honestly think it would be easier if we lived together, but doing that means we’d have to get married now. And if I did that, I think I’d regret not having a big family wedding.
Plus financially, we are really not ready to get an apartment. An apartment means more than just a place to live, it means having to deal with a lease, and utilities, and so on. So for now I guess I just learn to live slightly frustrated; not being sure which direction I should take: to follow the yellow brick road, or to go over the meadow and through the woods.
Time will reveal it all. Until then, we will do what we do best and play the limbo game. Frankly, we are getting pretty good at it, but that doesn’t mean I like playing it.
Yours truly,
The Wanna Be Bride
