I’m getting married! Its official, I have the ring to prove it, and now on to the major planning.

My husband to-be took me on a wonderful trip to Seattle where… he proposed to me on Alki beach overlooking Seattle and the Sound. It was the first beach we had ever been to together. In low tide our previous trip we had played in the tide pools and watched the sea life. It was one of the best times I had while in Seattle so he took me back to the same exact place. Although it was a windy November day, and the tide was high, we walked around the beach looking for shells and skipping rocks.

He is the rock skipping pro, and I have a sorry excuse for a throwing arm, so I was looking for rocks for him to skip. I wondered a little way off when he called me over to look at rocks by him. I did, and what I found was not a rock. It was my pretty ring perched on top of the sand. I picked it up, looked at him and said, “I’m not skipping this!” He then took it from me, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

After we walked along the beach a little more, and let the feeling of being engaged sink in, we went back to the jeep where I preceded to Facebook and text everyone I know. That evening we met up with his parents for dinner. His mom jumped up and down and then asked to see my ring. His dad said he knew it was only a matter of time because his son is head over heels for me!

It feels so wonderful to wake up every morning with a ring of my finger, knowing in nine months and counting this Wanna Be Bride will be an official one!
