How much will you spend on your wedding? 

When my daughter said she wanted to get married at home in our backyard I was glad. I was pretty sure we could do it for less if we did it ourselves anyway. I really got myself worked up though, and was thinking more about the budget than anything else. With the average wedding costing between $16,000 and $20,000 with some being much more expensive; I was very concerned.

I have tried so hard through our marriage to keep us out of debt, and not with much success. We seem to be able to keep our heads above water, but we are never able to get ahead. What was this going to do to our family finances?

I am a stay at home mom to four children. Don’t get me wrong, I love being at home, but it makes for tight finances at times. I didn’t sleep that night; I’m not sure if it was the money thing or that my sweet Lesly was going to be leaving the nest. This would be my first of four children to leave home. I hardly ever cry, but that night I couldn’t help it. The tears just seemed to well up inside and flow out.
