When I started doing my research (pricing items and looking for deals) I soon discovered I did not need to spend a fortune to have a beautiful wedding. The challenge is to take the time and explore the options. You must constantly be on the lookout. The deals are there; I know, because we found them. Setting and keeping track of your budget is an absolute necessity. That alone will push you to try to get the best price on everything you buy.
Sometimes you have to be willing to wait. Other times it’s best to get it now. But you won’t know if it’s a good deal unless you’ve done some homework first. I have learned that in making decisions in situations like this, it’s best if you can remove emotion from the decision process. Don’t let your emotions take over and never make a decision based solely on emotion. Train yourself and do not allow yourself to get distracted. Focus on the goal.
Also, try to think outside the box and get those creative juices flowing. If you run into a snag, strategize with your friends. It’s truly amazing how much some people know or what they can come up with if given the opportunity.
In working through our wedding process I learned so very much. That’s why I want to share what I learned with you. I want you to know that having a wedding in your backyard is very doable. We had major landscaping issues to deal with and still we were able to do things inexpensively. I realize you might not have landscaping issue but it will be something, there will always be an issue or two.
