There are two things that I am concerned with these days. One is the invitations, and the other is the placement of our dessert buffet table. My daughter is not to concerned with the invitations:  we just need to find an inexpensive one. The dessert table situation, however, is very important to her.

The problem lies with how to set everything up on the patio. It’s a 12′ x 40′ area which seems big enough. However, it’s also the door to the house that leads to the bathroom and the kitchen area. I cannot just put tables from one end to the other; I need openings for people to get through. I also want people to be able to get their dessert and drinks without waiting or bumping into each other.

The wedding is during what is normally our hottest month:  July. It will be an evening wedding, but the shade will be late to come into that part of my yard. The deck above the patio will at least provide shade to the reception goodies.

For the last wedding we had in our yard, the punch and coffee were on tables situated on the lawn. It was a scary set-up on soft and uneven ground, and the punch was a bit far from the kitchen.  So… this time I want to take care of these issues.

I talked it over with some friends and we had it all fixed…  until I shared it with the bride. We are now on to plan B.
