Very Teri ~ New Wedding Project
First, there will have to be junk removal! My children keep wanting to get rid of stuff they have out grown, this is a good thing. But… I will someday have grandchildren (my first in June!) and I want to have a toy room. Ugh, where to put things until they will be used?
There is a small table that could be used for race cars or building blocks. Also, a horse barn with lots of horses in it (what child doesn’t like horses?) and boxes filled with dolls and doll clothes. I have a box of onions sitting there too! These were from my garden last fall and will be gone soon. And, as you can see from the picture there are other things that need to go.
Where things are now is not a bad spot (the basement is large) except it’s where the kitchen is going to be for our wedding. Behind all this stuff there is a water hook-up for a sink and dishwasher, and a plug-in for a stove. There is even a place for a refrigerator. We had all this installed when we were building our house. We lived in the basement while we finished the upstairs. It worked wonderfully.
While we are preparing for our daughters wedding we are also planning for our future wedding facility. I’m so glad we have the kitchen all plumbed in. To build a special building for the facility is just not in the plans right now, we will make do with what we have.
Les (husband, plumber, builder, jack of all trades – man I love this guy) and I went to the Home Depot last Sunday and priced cabinets, plywood, and laminant for the counter top. I really love the hardware store (I think Les is glad I love it too :~). I wish I could find someone who just wanted to get rid of their old cabinets. I’m sure I could make most anything look good (wishful thinking? Nah…).
New projects always bring excitement mixed with a bit of anxiety. There will be colors to choose, a design to plan, a sink to pick out, etc. Then there is always the time and money involved.
Ah… bring it on. Teri :~
