Decorations, Favors, Etc…..
With our choice of colors made (red, white and off white) we began to see things that would be cute for our decorations. I remember talking to my friend Leanne about wanting Hershey’s kisses for the favors and wouldn’t it be cool to find red and gold ones. Well, the next day she was at the grocery store and there they were, and on sale, after Valentines day. I hopped down to the store and purchased all they had left.
Now I know your thinking it’s February and the wedding is in August; wouldn’t the candy get stale? Again, Leanne to the rescue. She had a machine that sucked all the air out and then sealed your food into a plastic bag. Wall-a, fresh until August.
Another time at the grocery store I saw the cutest six-inch flower pots and they were painted off white with red hearts all over them. I bought all they had, I think it was seven; they were a very good price. I was not sure what I’d use them for yet, but …. I think it was at this point we decided we liked the hearts and went with them on some of our ribbon selection too.
Letting people know of our needs and wants was – in a big way – how we were able to do everything so inexpensively. Friends and family were so eager to help. What a blessing this was.
