The picture in this post is of my wedding invitation. I didn’t fold the one shown because I keep it in my wedding album. But I used the plain piece of white paper in the picture to show how we did fold our invitations.
As you can see, it was very cost effective. One piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper folded over and closed with a sticker. If I remember correctly, my parents had them printed at a local print shop and then we just brought them home to fold, attach the sticker, and address. I don’t know why you couldn’t have a friend do one up and then make copy’s. I’m sure copy machines are better quility now than 27 years ago.
Most invitations seem to have more information on them or included with them. An invitation like mine would still work if you referred people to a web site to get more information. You will want to let people know where you are registered. You might also want to share hotel information and directions to your event.
